A
Word from our Chancellor
Dear
Prospective Student:
I want to
commend you for your interest in seminary training and especially for
your
interest in the PEARL V. ADKINS SCHOOL OF MINISTRY.
Choosing
the right seminary is crucial, for it will shape your thinking process in
all
future ministries. As I have always told young men and women, your seminary
should be a place where they enjoy spiritual, biblical and theological growth -
not
a battleground where they try to hold on to a remnant of their faith.
Therefore, as
you consider PEARL V. ADKINS SCHOOL OF MINISTRY or any other
seminary, I
would urge you to ask the following questions:
1.
Does the seminary emphasize the expositional preaching and teaching of
God's inerrant Word in its curriculum?
2.
Is the faculty unified on the doctrinal statement and purpose of the
seminary?
3.
Will the seminary reinforce my beliefs or will I have to fight for them?
4.
Does the seminary stress excellence in the theological discipline which
will
equip me for a lifetime of understanding and proclaiming Scripture?
5.
Does the seminary provide personalized discipleship with an emphasis on
stimulating spiritual growth in both students and faculty members?
6.
Does the seminary stress local church ministry involvement?
7.
Does the seminary have a biblical approach to training men and women for
expository preaching?
8.
Does the location of the seminary offer opportunities for ministry
involvement both culturally and cross-culturally?
9.
Will the local economy provide employment opportunities?
10.
Does the seminary have a solid history of effective placement service to
ministry upon graduation?
11.
Does the seminary provide a lifetime relationship and continuing
education
upon graduation?
12.
Do I believe this seminary will best prepare me to fulfill God's call on
my
life?
13.
Does the faculty model the appropriate content of godly character,
scholastic excellence and ministry commitment?
14.
Is the faculty committed to a specialized writing ministry beyond the
seminary classroom?
15.
Does the seminary articulate a biblical philosophy of church ministry and
worship?
16.
Does the seminary train for spiritual leadership from a biblical
perspective?
17.
Is the seminary training conducted in the midst of a local church
environment?
I pray
that your experience with Grace Valley Theological Seminary will be a great
and
rewarding one.
Grace and
Peace,
Chancellor
Lorenzo J. Stephanson, Ph. D. Th.
A Word from the President
Greetings
in the name of our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Thank you
for
considering our school for your spiritual needs in preparation for your
Christian
service.
P.V. ADKINS SCHOOL OF MINISTRY is a non traditional as well as a
non-denominational education ministry. We strive for the truth in our approach
to
teaching. Although we have thousands of national and international schools of
ministry across the world, we offer each individual student excellent distance
learning programs which meets your own unique personal and ministry needs.
We
have found it to be imperative that colleges design educational systems that
serve the student and allows them to reach their goals. Whether it is the
conventional classroom, weekend seminars, or the individualized self-study
program, GVTS can accommodate your educational needs. I want to take this
opportunity to thank you for your interest in our school. I am here to serve
your
needs while you are enrolled and to help assist you once you leave.
Here at P.V. ADKINS, we have instituted several teaching
methods which are
unique in their concepts, biblical in their principles and
sound in doctrine. We will
allow you to grow at your own pace, and to
demonstrate your skills and
knowledge gained by classroom study, lectures,
assigned readings, and we will
test your competence. This will give you all the
validation you need for your
efforts .Remember that this will be school. This is
higher education. You can’t get
any higher than who we represent.
I would also like to leave you with this
thought. If we as believers serve in our
fullness, we are continuing the mandate
God left us with to carry on. When we
study these sacred scriptures we will find
hidden truths, these wise words will
enable us to perform our duties more
effectively as members of the body of Christ
expand and renew minds is a
concept we will strive to master. For when we renew or
minds concerning God we
undoubtedly expand it. So remember Expand and renew.
Looking forward to working with
you.
